Message from the District Attorney
Thank you for visiting our website.
The mission of the Mountain Circuit District Attorney’s Office is to ethically,
thoroughly, and efficiently carry out our role in handling criminal cases in the
counties we serve.
- Our work
includes:
- Providing legal
advice and assistance to law enforcement in criminal investigations,
and providing investigative assistance.
- Reviewing criminal cases and making charging decisions.
- Representing the State of
Georgia
in criminal prosecutions and asset forfeiture proceedings, including primarily the litigation of criminal cases.
- Acting as the legal advisors to Grand Juries in the counties we serve.
- Providing information, assistance, and support to victims of crime and
their families.
- Serving on criminal justice related committees and assisting in
developing protocols and procedures for the Mountain Judicial Circuit.
- Providing information, training, and education for the community, law
enforcement
agencies, state agencies, and non-profit advocacy groups in our
circuit.
